These generators

are located on this map with the small "x" going from the

north there about 20 miles west of Creede down through Wagon

Wheel Gap, South rork, around the east side continuing around

by Monte Vista down to Antonito, and then coming back up on

the east side -- or west side, excuse me, Chama, Cp10mo, up

around pagosa Springs, and as far west as approximately the

Yellow Jacket Pass area.

Q Are these devices in place at the present time?

A There are 13 of the generators presently in

location. These are the same locations that were used last

year, or approximately the same locations. The six genera-

tors proposed for the west side of the project area have not

been installed at the present time.

Q Would you describe for the Hearing Officer and

the members of the Advisory Commission what materials you

propose to use in this operation and also the seeding rates

that you intend to use?

A

I would use silver iodide as the artificial ice

nuclei, and this is a solution of acetone. The components

in this solution are silver iodide, sodium iodide, and aceton

The acetone is essentially a burning agent to help to vapor-

ize the silver iodide to form the minute ice crystals.
