The <br />author 01 this study remained impartial throughout the study and was only aSked 10 provide a <br />statistical analysis of !tie rainla~ within and outside of eadl of the target regions. <br /> <br />Data Methodology <br /> <br />The following raw precipitabon data was obtained from the National Climatic Data Cenler. Any <br />aldamal use or the faw dala must be by permission 01 !he NCDC. <br /> <br />Each county's daily data was parsed into calegQfies 01 rainlall amoonts and monttlly totals were <br />calculated_ For counties Wltl1 more than one reporting data location, the average of all 01 the data <br />locations were performed 10 obtain a 'county value". <br /> <br />Ttle values lor the categorized values are In days and ttIe values in lhe rainfall 10lals are in <br />mches. <br /> <br />Target and Control Areas <br /> <br />The Target Areas are those counties ltIat were deemed counties that received weather <br />modification dunng a signiflCanl portion oj the speofled time period- <br /> <br />The Conlrol Areas are nearby counties that were deemed counties thaI received minimal to no <br />weather modification during a significant portion at the specified lime penod. In most cases. these <br />counties received no weather modihcalion_ Additionalty, confrol counties were sele{;led 10 <br />minimize any downwind impacts lrom either weather modIficalioo from the reglOf1S larget areas or <br />other target areas from nearby weather modrficabon pfOteCls. <br /> <br />Percent Difference <br /> <br />The Percent Difference values indiCate tile percenlage Increase (decrease if negative) 01 rainlall <br />days or amounls between the target and control areas.
