In <br />October 1978, Dan took a position with Western Weather <br />Consultants where in addition to continuing to be assistant <br />forecaster on the HIPLEX summertime programs in 1979 and 1980, he <br />was responsible for daily forecasts for a wide range of clients, <br />public forecasting for radio, television and newspapers, and for <br />decision making in winter orographic cloud seeding programs in <br />various areas of Colorado. In 1986, Mr. Risch joined the staff <br />at North American Weather Consultants. Currently he is <br />responsible for the operations and conduct of both summer and <br />winter weather modification programs and the provision of weather <br />forecasts to various entities. In addition, Dan operates weather <br />radar, a satellite downlink weather data acquisition system, and <br />an in-house computer system. He assists in the assessment of the <br />effectiveness of weather modification programs and report <br />writing. Finally, he is in charge of NAWC I S Personnel Safety <br />Program. <br />
