<br />8,0 METHODS OF EVALUATION <br /> <br />Although the scope and design of the proposed operational <br />program does not make provisions for extensive evaluation of <br />seeding results, storm and operating data will be retained in <br />a form suitable for later analysis. <br /> <br />8,1 Data used to Monitor Day to Day Operations <br /> <br />a, Seeder aircraft track and seeding location will <br />be recorded for later correlation with storm tracks, <br />b. Each pilot will record and inform the project director <br />of: <br />1) Each start - stop time (Greenwich Mean Time) ; <br />altitude; temperature; material used. <br />2) All changes of direction of 15 degrees or more. <br />3) All changes in amounts of material being dispensed. <br />4) Location at least every 15 minutes, <br />5) Entry - exit time; location into and out of the <br />state of Colorado and Oklahoma, <br />6) The on-top aircraft will furnish liquid water con- <br />tent and ice crystals reports, based on what the <br />pilot sees. <br />7) The cloud base aircraft will furnish up-draft reports <br />and gust fronts. Based on aircraft performance and <br />visual. <br />8) Plot the entire flight - showing seed and non-seed <br />portions of flight - on the back of each seeding <br />form, <br /> <br />If the reports are not deliverable at the end of the <br />mission, they will be forwarded to Lakin by the next day's mail, <br />This is a must do item. <br /> <br />8.2 Data Collected for Research Analysis <br /> <br />Seeding locations and amounts will be recorded for <br />later correlation with the radar echo data. <br /> <br />35mm Black-white Direct Photographs of the PPI and <br />Radar Scope will be made at fifteen minute intervals <br />or movie at the rate of one frame every 15 seconds, <br /> <br />Overlay every 30 minutes <br /> <br />All entries will be in Greenwich Mean Time and magnetic <br />direction. <br /> <br />8,3 Other Reports used to Monitor Seeding Effects <br /> <br />One of the important functions of the Policy Board <br />members is to make continuing assessments of the impact of the <br />seeding program in their respective local community, The <br />Project Director, will of course be responsive to any benefits <br />or disbenefits disclosed through the county board members. <br /> <br />State of Kansas Rainfall Reporters <br /> <br />Hail Loss Reports <br />
