Some seeding occurred near the Gray/Ford County line from
6:00 p.m. - 6:22 p.m.

Before dusk an extensive NE-SW line of storms stretched across
Nebraska, N~ Kansas and eastern Colorado, A plane was sent up at
8:25 p.m. as the line was moving toward the NW part of the target
area. Seeding started in Greeley County, near the state line, at
8: 47 p. m. I a second plalH3 began seeding in Wallace County at 9: 12
p. m. Severe storms wi thin the NE-SW oriented line moved South-
easterly becoming embedded within the line making effective seeding
difficult. Hail-beat'iug :;,torms were observed over southern Wallace
County, northern Wichita and Scott counties where seeding was then
targeted. Later. as the large line of storms moved further east
across the target area, severe storms were observed on radar in
souther" Greeley County and eastern Hamil ton County---moving toward
Kearny County. Seeding emphl\sis was shifted to Kearny. Finney and
Haskell counties, ahead of the line. By 12:34 a.m., MDT,
disspating thunderstunu:s and rainshowers were in evidence along the
line and all seeding ended.

BOTE: Si81lificant rain <. 75". - 1") fell along much of this line
during seeding. Radar indicated similar rainfall was possible !:l_S
echoes persisted over portions of Kearny, Finney, Haskell and Gray
counties.

JUNE 29th/30TH---OPERATIONAL DAYS #18/19: Two days are being lumped
together here since the storm episode and seeding events carried
over through the night into the next morning.

Initially, a ~evere storm began near Goodlanct with new storms
developing SW towen-u Sharon Springs into an ENE-WSW line. Two
planes were scrambled at 4-: 17 p. m., MDT. Seeding began near Sharon
Springs at 5: 03_ p. m'_Eltorm movements were SE. Seeding continued along an area of
redevelopment within the line along the northern portions of
Wichita, Scott and Lane counties. Two aircraft ended seeding to
reload and refuel _1'18 the storms weakened. moving away from Lane
County. One plane was luoved to new storm growth just north of
Wichi ta County and briefly seeded in NW Wichita County ahead of the
BB moving star-m. Seeding ended at g: 29 p. m.

The storm in Wichita County persisted, moving only slightly
while seeming to await luerging with storms moving southeast toward
it from eastel'n Colorado. Re-intensification of the storm near
Leoti required scrambling an aircraft at 10:51 p.m. Some seeding
was later performed around the Wichita storm then in a new area of
storms near Sharon Springs (which had drifted into Kansas from
Colorado). A second plane was launched to help seed along leading
edge new cloud development over Wallace and - Greeley County,
