Operations in Colorado include
missions for hail suppression (hail), rain augmentation (rain), a combination of both (combo) or an observation
flight (obs) in which no seeding took place. *Observational flights in which no seeding occurred are not defined
as an operational day, therefore no operational logs are available for those days.

Dates Tvpe of Op
4/24/00 Rain
Totals

Gen Mins

20
20

Al!l Dispensed
56 gm
56gm

pyrotechnics
o

o

Dry ice used
0.00 Kg
0.00 Kg

Operational summary: The following contains a brief generalized summery of each operational day in
which seeding operations occurred in the State of Colorado:

Dates
04/24/00

Tvpe of Operation
Rain

Total generator minutes:
Total grams of (Agl) dispensed:
WMG-l
RF-3
Total pyrotechnics used
Total kilograms of (C02) dispensed:

20 min.
56gm
o flares
o flares
o flares
0.00 Kg

Monday April 24, 2000 (Operation day #1)
Personnel at Colby began monitoring a slow moving line of storms in eastern Colorado at 1 :00 p.m.. Four cloud-
base aircraft were launched to Cheyenne County, Co at 3:15 p.m.. Planes patrolled the line in Colorado,
northwest of Cheyenne Wells until 4:25 p.m.. At this time one plane began broadcast seeding for rain
enhancement in northwest Cheyenne County, CO to effect the portion ofthe line coming into western Sherman
County. Two other planes were sent to western Sherman County. The operation was up graded to hail
suppression in western Sherman County and two additional planes began seeding at 4:41 p.m.. The forth plane
was returned for operations in the southern target area. Seeding for hail continued through central and southern
Sherman, and northern Wallace Counties. As the line progressed into Logan County seeding was suspended at
5:49 p.m.. Two planes were released to assist in the southern target area at his time. One plane was sent to
investigate a portion of the same line in Thomas County. Seeding for rain began in central Thomas County at
5 :57 p.m. At 6: 13 all seeding was halted in Thomas County and the last plane was sent to assist in the southern
target area.
