On <br />-----,q -.~ <br />an average of twice a month it was convenient to commence rain <br />--- -- , . -,--, . <br /> <br />augment~t~o!.1_seeding of storms Pl'ior to crossing the Colorad? <br />border. <br /> <br />F. storm Documentation <br /> <br />One of the recognized deficiencies of earlier Muddy Road <br />operations was the lack of a suitable method for recording storm <br />movements and growth patterns while cloud seeding was in progress. <br />Installation of the Data General computer with the associated CIC <br />programs for generating and storing radar data provided a con- <br />venient method for filling this gap. <br /> <br />Installation and checkout of the computer system was not <br />completed until mid-season. As an interim measure, pending <br />activation of the computer system, 35mm photographs of the PPI <br />were used to record storm behavior. <br /> <br />During the last two months of the program, computer <br />generated echo displays were available, in PPI and Rill form, for <br />use in real-time replay and storage on disk cartridges and/or hard <br />copy printouts. Examples of the computer generated radar data <br />are shown in Section VI of this report. <br /> <br />11 <br />
