<br />P.02 <br /> <br />JUL-20-00 THU 04:27 PM <br /> <br />< <br /> <br />NOTICE OF INTENT TO MODIFY WEA TIlER <br /> <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that WESTERN WEATHER CONSULTANTS, LLC, <br />1102 Co. Rd. 220, Durango, Colorado 81301, hereinafter referred to as "Applicant", has or is <br />about to file with the Director oCthe Colorado Water Conservation Board an application to <br />renew their Permit #95-1 to conduct weather modification operations within the State of <br />Colorado and within the areas hereinafter more specifically stated. The Applicant shall conduct <br />such operations for and on behalf of the following: <br />Beaver Creek Associates, Inc., Box 7, Vail, CO 81658 <br />Beaver Creek Resort Company of Colorado, Box 5390, Avon CO 81620-5390 <br />Vail Associates, Inc., Box 7, Vail, CO 81858 <br /> <br />The name of the person who shall be in control of the weather modification program is <br />LAWRENCE M. HJERMST AD, who is the Manager of Western Weather Consultants, LLC. <br /> <br />The primary Target Area of the operations for which the Permit Extension is sought is <br />described as follows: <br />The mountains and ski slopes specifically over and around the Vail and Beaver Creek Ski <br />areas. The target area includes parts of Eagle County within the State of Colorado. The Program <br />is designed, operated and intended to affect only the Target Area within Eagle County. <br /> <br />The Weather Modification Rules and Regulations 2 CCR 401-1(C(2)) require at a minimum <br />this notice also be published in all adjacent counties to the Target Area county which include the <br />following counties within the State of Colorado: <br />Routt, Garfield, Pitkin, Lake, Summit and Grand. <br /> <br />The expected duration of the weather modification operations for which the pennit extension <br />is sought is from November 1,2000 to March 31, 2001 and continuing for the next four <br />consecutive years through 2005. (This program has been ongoing for the past twenty-five years) <br /> <br />The intended effect of the weather modification operations is to increase the snowpack and <br />precipitation in the above-indicated Primary Target Area for recreational use. <br /> <br />The Public is invited to send any questions or comments concerning this proposed permit <br />renewal to the attention of the Director of the Colorado Water Conservation Board within the <br />next 3D-day period. In approving the renewal of a permit for a continuous program, the Director <br />may waive the procedures for initial issuance of a permit and, upon review and approval of the <br />projects operational record, the Director may issue a renewed Permit for the operation to <br />continue {36-20-1l4(2)} CRS. <br /> <br />Complete details of the operations to be conducted by the Applicant are available on request <br />from the Applicant, WESTERN WEATHER CONSULTANTS, LLC.
