<br />The fourth aircraft, leased from Aero Systems, Inc. of Erie, Colorado, <br /> <br />was used to dispense dry ice in the supercooled parts of clouds. It was <br /> <br />equipped with two dispensers that automatically released dry ice pellets at <br /> <br />the rate of one-pound per minute of flight. This aircraft and its crew were <br /> <br />available to operate anytime on a 24-hour basis. <br /> <br />The cloud base seeding aircraft were located at Lakin, Ulysses, and <br /> <br />Scott City. The cloud-top seeder was stationed at D~ge City. <br /> <br />All seeding was performed under positive aircraft control by the radar <br /> <br />meteorologist with the pilots providing important inputs in the identifi- <br /> <br />cation of targets of opportunity and other specific cloud information. <br /> <br />-15- <br />
