<br />CLOUD SEEDING - 1994 <br /> <br />A Summary of Cloud Seeding <br /> <br />OpeJ:ations by Water Enhancement Authority <br /> <br />During the winter of 1994, a cloud-seeding program was <br />conducted by Water Enhancement Authority over Grand Mesa and <br />the West Elk Mountains in western Colorado. The program was <br />sponsored by the Grand Mesa, North Fork, Crawford, Fruitland <br />and Co1lbran Conservancy Districts, and Kannah Creek/City of <br /> <br />Grand Junction. Meteorological analysis was provided by <br />Atmospherics Incorporated of Fresno, California. Water <br /> <br />Enhancement Aughority operated under Colorado Weather <br />Modification Permit No. 90-2. <br /> <br />This cloud seeding program was operated with fourteen <br />(14) ground-based generators located around the target area. <br />(A map is attached showing the target area and generator <br />locations.) Generator operators were contacted by telephone <br /> <br />and told when to start and stop their generators. Generators <br />were filled with a solution of 2% (by weight) of silver <br />iodide and acetone. This mixture was burned with propane. <br />Approximately 6 grams .of silver iodide were released per hour <br /> <br />of operation per generator. <br /> <br />.t17UiJ~~ <br /> <br />lDtHt!
