~
-I
I

I
I
I

The WKWK concept under which seeding operations were conducted
were similar to many other programs of It his kind: The meteorologist
makes the operational decisions both to launch and to position the
seeding aircraft as well as to send instructions pertaining to seeding
operations and flight termination, Seeding is performed under positive
control by the radar meteorologist in cooperation with the pilots who,.
in turn, provide important inputs in the identification of targets of
opportunity and other specific cloud information. Experienced cloud
seeding pilots generally possess good judgment and prudence flying
around thunderstorm updraft areas so that the two-way communication
and teamwork between pilot and meteorologist works effectively,

IV.
