Box 604 <br />Scott City, Kansas 67871 <br /> <br />DATE OF APPLICATION: February 20,1998 submitted by letter dated February 24,1998 <br /> <br />PROJECT: <br /> <br />Commercial seeding operation for hail suppression and rain <br />augmentation in Colorado and Kansas using cloud base and cloud top <br />aircraft which may seed with any of the following agents to generate <br />ice nuclei: silver iodide-acetone solution, dry ice, and pyrotechnics. <br /> <br />TARGET AREA: <br /> <br />The proposed target area in Colorado includes the first full township <br />on the eastern edge of Yuma County, Kit Carson County, and <br />Cheyenne County from approximately the Town ofWray, Colorado <br />to the southern border of Cheyenne County. <br /> <br />DURATION: <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />The project is proposed to start April 22, 1998 and extend through <br />September 21, 1998. <br /> <br />PERSON IN CHARGE:' The person in charge of the project is Curtis D. Smith, Program <br />Manager, Western Kansas Weather Modification Program, of Lakin, <br />Kansas. <br /> <br />PERMIT SOUGHT: An original pennit pursuant to S 36-20-112, CRS, with conditional <br />approval for a time period in excess of one year's duration pursuant <br />to S 36-20-114, CRS. <br /> <br />ACTION TO BE TAKEN: The findings will be the basis for a decision to either grant the pennit, <br />grant the permit subject to conditions, or deny the permit. <br /> <br />DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY <br /> <br />This application was acted upon by the Director ofthe Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />pursuant to the delegation of authority to him from the Executive Director of the Colorado <br />Department of Natural Resources since September 25, 1987 and reaffirmed October 14, 1992. <br /> <br />1 <br />
