SOOTllI!lUl COLORADO FARIIS
55 H. TORRBS STREET
P.O BOX 416
CENTER, CO 81125

RECEIVED
JUL 29 1996

July 23, 1996

Colorado Water
Conservation Board

Mr. Torn Deakins, President
Colorado cattleman's Association
8833 Ralston Road
Arvada, CO 80002

Dear Mr. Deakins:

Mr. William stanton at the Colorado Water Conservation Board
has forwarded to us a copy of your letter June 19,1996.

First I would like to say that we certainly sympathize with
the plight of the rancher during the difficult times Of 1996 not
only as to the cattle prices but also as to the consequences of the
drought which are shared by the rancher and farmer alike. The
drought makes us as vegetable producers even more cognizant of the
need to preserve and enhance our rapidly disappearing water supply.
Certainly none of the farmers including us would undertake any
activity that would in anyway contribute to or diminish water
supply. To do so would be to commit economic suicide on our part.

In regard to the project being conducted for hail control, you
can rest assured that nothing in this project will in any way
diminish the water prospects for the people of this county, this
valley, or this state~ Since draught conditions are likely 'to
produce violent weather reactions, our attempt is to modify the
moisture from a solid (hail) to a liquid (rain). Nothing is being
injected into the atmosphere to cause any atmosphere changes, we
are employing the technology of sequenced ultra sonic sound waves
to cavitate the hail prone area of the cloud and inhibit the
formation of the hail stones.

The colorado Cattlemen's Association has enjoyed an honored
reputation in the state of Colorado, advocating fair and equal
treatment to all of the citizenry and we would request that same
courtesy be extended to us, and that you acquaint yourself with the
facts before a head long rush to judgement and condemnation of our
project.
