Of all the claims submitted this season, the two days June
19th and June 9th alone produced 47.2% of the total damage---almost
half of our total damage for t~e season. The table on the previous
page shows that 6 days <11.1%) of the 54 hail days experienced this
season produced fully 75% oj the total number of claims submitted;
also, 18% of our total season's flight hours for seeding were
expended on those 6 days.

damage claim numbers summarized; Table 6, on the page following,
shows daily hail claim numbers in the WKWM target area for 1990,
Of interest 1s June 19th when every county in the WKWM target area
received some hallj the two counties worst damaged being Lane <199
claims) and Haskell (195 claims). There were a total of 840 claims
submitted that day making it a new record for most-ever claims on
a single day in the WKWM target area. Last year we set a new
record then at 745 clalros---let's hope this isn't the beginning of
a yearly trend!

Table 7 I two pages following, presents the monthly
distribution of crop hail insurance claims for the entire State of
Kansas, including the WKWM participating counties. Interestingly,
a full 68.6% of all claims for the state were recorded in June and,
as we see in the WKWM target area in Table 4 on the preceding page,
June. was our most active month with 20 hail days reported---
representing 61.5% of our total number of claims for the year.
