of stronger storms developed, one in central Lane County' the other
in western Ford County. Three cloud base planes were s~nt to the
Lane County area and two to Ford. The cloud top plane also worked
the Ford County storms. Seeding began for rainfall stimulation in
Lane County at 3:12 p.m. and in Ford County at 3:38 p.m. An area
around the cluster of storms seeded in Lane County intensified such
that hail suppression seeding was begun at 3:48 p.m. One plane was
moved from the western Ford County seeding area to another area of
storms in eastern Finney, near Kalvesta at 4:06 p.m. Seeding in
Lane County was reduced to rain stimulation at 4:09 p.m. then ended
as ,the storms moved ESE out of the target area'between 4:18 and
4:21 p,m. Seeding in Ford County ended at 4:19 p.m.

At 8 :,35 p.m. radar indicated an isolated thunderstorm with
ha'il, had \l;:.ij",loped, in Wallace' County,' west'of Sharon Spr irigs, near
the Colorado st'ate line. Three cloud base planes were scrambled to
it and began seeding at 9:05 p,m. The two others joined at 9:08 and
9: 19 p.m., respectively. A fourth cloud base plane was scrambled at
8:50 p.m. and was seeding in Wallace County at 9:32 p.m. Seeding
continued until 10:00 p.m. when two planes were sent back to base~
However, others storm built in southcentral and northwest Greeley.
The southcentral storm was seeded briefly for hail and rainfall at
10:10 and 10:11 p.m., respectively, ending at 10:25 p.m, The storm
in northwest Greeley was then seeded for rain at 10:36 p.m. and had
it second plane join in at 10:40 p.m. As seeding was in proqress,
a large NNE...,SSW line of storms had moved eastward through eastern
Colorado toward Kansas. All four other aircraft were scrambled
between 10:44 and 10:55 p.m. Two planes performed rain stimulation
seeding along the line of advancing storms on the west side of
Hamilton County at 11:03 p.m. However, it was recognized that the
aircraft were flying over a very large gust front caused by
collapsing storms~ithin the line of stOrm$ in eastern Colorado and
two flights were terminated at 11:15 p.m, Seeding for rainfall at
Cloud base continued until 11:46 p.m. The cloud top plane did some
brief rainfall stimulation on isolated clouds from 11:42 p,m. to
12:06 a,m. then terminated.

JUNE 14th:'" OPERATIONAL DAY f23: This was a day in which "waves" of
thunderstorms built in and around the target area from early
afternoon throughout the evening and into the following morning. '
Generally storms moved northeasterly . Some storms ,were severe, with
hail, but mostly there were numerous thunderstorms of lesser
intensity and rainshowers. Initially the cloud top plane and one
cloud base plane were scrambled to a single storm in southwest Ford
County at 1:23 p.m. However, while the cloud base plane was
enroute to Ford County a new cloud built in extreme southern Finney
County it was diverted to it and began seeding at 1:48 p.m. Two
more planes were scrambled at 1:49 p.m. and were airborne at 2:05
and 2:07 p.m., respectively. Since new storms had begun forming in
Southern Greeley County, one aircraft was sent to it. The cloud top
plane started seeding in eastern Gray County/western FOrd County at
2:15 p.rn'-
