Durango, Colorado 81302-0058

Dear Mr. Hjermstad:

Your letter dated December 30,1998 applying for a Weather Modification License for
1999 has just now come to my attention. It was stamped as received in our offices on
January 4, 1999. I can't imagine why it took so long to get back to me, and I apologize
for the agency.

We are returning your check for $100 because the Legislature (SB 96-090)' eliminated the
license requirement from the Weather Modification statutes effective July 1, 1996. I
have enclosed a copy of the current law (~J.6-20-l0l et seq.; CRS) for your information.
The 1998 Colorado Statutes can be reviewed through the Internet at the Colorado Statute
Manager Web Site (http://web.intellinetusa.com/stat98/).

Sincerely,

11/~F:cfr~

William P.
