NA WC obtained a pennit
to operate this program for the NCWCD from the Colorado Department of Natural
Resources. The NA WC meteorologists who conducted the program were also licensed
by this department. The NCWCD purchased 15 NA WC manufactured ground based
silver iodide generators. NA WC trained NCWCD personnel in the operation and
maintenance of these generators and helped select appropriate sites for their placement.
NCWCD personnel' installed and maintained these generators for a program that
commenced on November 1, 1992 and continued through April 30, 1993 (Risch, et al.,
1993). NAWC provided similar weather modification services to NCWCD during the
period of February through March, 1994 (Risch et aI., 1994). Both seasons indicated
positive seeding effects.

NCWCD requested that NA WC again provide support in operating a cloud
seeding program over the Willow Creek drainage, for the period of November 1994
through April 1995. Preparations were made during October 1994 for this program and
operations began on November 1, 1994. Figure 1.1 shows the location of the project
area and the 15 silver iodide generator sites. This report describes the 1994-95 project.

1-1
