2000-2001 WEATHER SUMMARY FOR THE
CENTERAL COLORADO WEATHER MODIFICATION PROGRAM

The first half of November was quite wet with frequent systems moving through the
Colorado Mountains, The last half of November and through all of December had near normal
snowfall from frequent weather systems,

Early January saw more fair skies and little additional snowfall with no seeding
opportunities.

The weather patterns again changed to allow a succession of five weather systems to
move through the region during the remainder of January. In total, the occurrence of seedable
weather systems and precipitation in January was substantially below normal. February's
weather pattern was very active compared to the normal with seven seedable weather systems
moving throughout the Central Colorado Mountains.

With the return to a more normal frequency of winter weather systems to the region, with
the exception of January, seeding opportunities were frequent. However, in general the weather
systems seemed to have slightly less moisture and had a shorter duration leaving the area again at
less than normal total precipitation for the operations season.
