This was the only site available (with an <br />adequate record) within the expanded target area. All oflhe target sites are higher elevation <br />NRCS S!\OTEL sites. except one higher elevation National Weather Service cooperative site <br />(Taylor Reservoir). These sites are distributed mainly along the northeastern side of Gunnison <br />County with one site. SIumgullion. located in the southern area near Lake City. The data quality <br />of these sites \\."as examined in a fashion similar to that described in the selection ofcootrol sites. <br />There were no target sites available funher west in the target area (e.g.. east slopes of the West <br />Elk ;\1ountains). The average elevation of the target sites is about 10.130 ft msl. Specifics in <br />regards to target station number. elevation and location are provided in Table 4-2. <br /> <br />37 <br />
