NA we performed another evaluation of a cloud seeding project conducted during the
2002-2003 wimer season in the Central Colorado Rockies. sponsored by Denver Water. One of
the steps in the development of a target/control evaluation of that project was a ~omprehensi\'e
search of all available records of previous cloud seeding activities in Colorado. NA WC'5 report
on that project (Solak. et a!. 2002) provides a summary of these earlier seeding programs.
Appendix B provides a copy of that summary. The information ""as useful in the identification of
possible control sites and non-seeded periods in the target. Figure 4.1 is a reproduction of a map
prepared by the Colorado Water Conservation Board that provides the locations of the target
areas for all of the cloud seeding projects conducted during the 2002-2003 winter season in
Colorado (a map for the 2003-2004 season is not available. although the number and locations
of cloud seeding programs last winter were similar to the previous winter). Data from Appendix
B and that contained in Fig. 4.1. may be used to determine those areas in Colorado that might
serve as uncontaminated control areas.
