New Mexico's permanent <br />allotment using the estimate of 6,550,000 acre-feet per year would be <br />731,000 acre-feet, annually. <br /> <br />Currently the water releases from Lake Powell plus the flow of the <br />Paria River total about 8,250,000 acre-feet on an average annual basis <br />at Lee Ferry. Since there has not yet been a recognition of a Mexican <br />Treaty deficiency in any year as defined in Article III(c) of the <br />Colorado River Compact, any deliveries at Lee Ferry in excess of <br />75,000,000 acre-feet in every consecutive and continuing ten-year period <br />must be accounted for as releases from Lake Powell pursuant to provisos <br />(i), (ii) or (iii) of subparagraph (a) (3) of Section 602 of the Colorado <br />River Basin Project Act (P.L. 90-537, 82 Stat. 885).
