I think our biggest goal that we're after is conservation of water, and we have a statement, plants
don't waste water, people do, If you walk across bluegrass lawns, the plants not letting all that
water sit there, somebody's overwatering that lawn, And we want to make sure we teach people
how to water, We're in a unique position to do that, with all the people that we have, I know at
Swingle I have 15,000 customers in the Denver Metro area, I'm right in the middle of putting
together a piece that's going to go out to them in the next week, "How to Save Water In A
Drought", In many cases, as we're writing our pieces and we're getting them out, we're realizing,
you know what? This is just sound water management all the time, It doesn't necessarily have to
be during a drought, you know, if we can educate people to use water wisely all the time, we may
not be putting ourselves in these positions, Some of our priority projects that we've been working
on since 1996, a lot of intemal connunication, you may not understand the breadth of it, but if
you can imagine trying to sit down with architects, with anybody, but an architect with the
maintenance folks on how we're going to maintain their things, How about setting down a sod
grower with a nurseryman, You've got trees vs, lawns, And trying to get these people to
connunicate on connon goals, and we've come a long ways toward getting everybody on the
same page, In addition to that, and through that process, we've built a set of best management
practices, and we're just coming up on the first release of those, I've got two copies ofthem here
today, for people to leaf through, and whoever ends up with them are welcome to take them,
We'll be putting these on the Colorado Water Conservation Board's website, around June 15 is the
date we'll have them published there, There's 29 BMPs relating from everything from designing
an irrigation system to how to maintain your landscape, And you'll also notice that the first two
happened alphabetically are drought practices for the landscape, So if you want to take a look at
those, Our big goal within the industry and from Green Industries of Colorado is to have you
recognize we're a resource, If you need help, come ask us, We'll be glad to sit down, we'll
educate your consumer, we'll educate your water board, we'll be glad to sit down and tell you the
things you need to be aware of, And we've love to be able to help you in those areas, Again,
understanding there are different stages of drought, as you guys are full aware, and there's
different stages of how to address the landscape in those stages if drought, And that's all I have,

Brad: Thank you John, I've actually witnessed the creation of these BMPs and it's been very
impressive, you guys have been working ahnost feverishly, and have done a great job, I really
appreciate everything you've done, Again, that information will be available on our website as
well as...

John - Our website will be up about the same time, it will be Greenco, org, About June 15th,

Brad - And if you have a chance to look, there's some really good information, Thank you, Next
up, I have Matt Knoedler, from the Governor's office, who would like to address us for a little bit,
Matt?

Matt: Thanks, Brad, On behalf of the Governor, I want to thank all of you who were chairs of the
Impact Task Forces, for the quick work that you did in assembling the reconnendations for the
Governor in less than., ,I think we gave 8 days for that. For that amount of time, in order to issue
your reconnendations, they were excellent, In addition to that, there's also the reports, I'd like to
especially point out the budget drill that should be in your handout, done by the Office of State
