(inaudible) emergency closures _?-, fishing restrictions, fish salvage
operations. Has the Division begun to think about those things, what you can do?

Robin - We already have a process in place for emergency "fish salvage". Apparently we are
developing a process to bring before the Commission, it's really in it's infancy, but generally,
giving some emergency regulatory powers that allows them to make a determination that fishing
closure might be a good idea. . . but _? _ since we've never had to deal with fishing closures
related to drought, we are looking at Montana's practice in the past couple of years because they've
been dealing with this for 4 years.

_ - Also, the Division owns a number of reservoirs, and you have any special kinds of those
facilities?

Robin - Well, I think Jeff...is he still here? He let us know that wildlife.. .maintenance of water
for wildlife purposes is of a lower priority drought situation for agriculture and municipal use, so
we're just going to roll with the punches, and we are looking at, as one of our tasks in the wildlife
subgroup.. . and the Division is starting to look at all of our water rights and how we use our water
to try and get best management practices and to put that water to the best use.

Ron Cattany(?) - And we do have several small projects that we've been working with like Trout
Unlimited has assets that we could offer Colorado irrigation rights to equal those tied in to a
balance between irrigating for fall foliage for the big game versus using the stream for the fishes,
and we're looking at that on a case by case basis. We've got like four or five projects that I'm
aware of that we're looking at either altering or exchanging the time with the Water
Commissioners on that, too. And that's one of the big benefits of this Wildlife Task Force, is that
all the people are in the room and they're making suggestions and _?_'

Brad - Anything else? Any questions? OK, as far as schedules for folks, is there anyone who
really needs to get going, or.. (general comments). We've been asked as far as the next meeting
date, to do a joint meeting with the Flood Task Force, I guess we do this once a year, right Larry?
And so that will be the next meeting, we're looking at June 25th, and again, that would be back in
this room, if that's OK, with folks, about 1 to 4 p.m. And I think we did clear that. Larry, any
thoughts on an earlier date?

Larry - You might want to have an interim one on your drought. Because we have our flood
meeting then to look at the summer monsoons. And just like John Henz told me, told the flood
task force three weeks ago that we're gong to be barbecuing inside on Memorial Day. If this storm
that's coming tonight would have been two days off, it would have snowed on Memorial Day. So,
he said that 3 weeks ago, and he missed it by 2 days. So I just throw that out, and you can laugh
if you want, but some of these climatologists do a pretty good job.

Brad - How about Thursday the 20th. Does that work for folks?

Discussion of calendars and conflicts

29
