<br />snow pack levels, with the exception of the South Platte basin due to heavy weighting of <br />reservoir storage in that basin. <br /> <br />South Platte Basin <br />SWSI values (-1.4) indicate that for March the basin water supplies were below normal. <br />Reservoir storage was 56% of normal as of the end of March. Storage levels in the major <br />plains reservoirs: Julesberg, North Sterling, and Prewitt are at 61 % of capacity. <br />Cumulative storage in the major upper-basin reservoirs of Cheesman, Eleven Mile, <br />Spinney, and Antero is at 44% of capacity. <br /> <br />Arkansas Basin <br />SWSI values (-0.4) indicate that basin water supplies were normal for March. Snowpack <br />on April 1, 2003 was 100% of normal. Storage in Turquoise, Twin Lakes, Pueblo, and <br />John Martin reservoirs totaled 43% of normal at the end of March. <br /> <br />Rio Grande Basin <br />SWSI values (-1.1) indicate that basin water supplies were below normal in March. <br />Snowpack levels on April 1, 2003 were 76% of normal. Storage in Platoro, Rio Grande, <br />and Santa Maria reservoirs totaled 86% of normal at the end of March. <br /> <br />Gunnison Basin <br />The SWSI values (-0.5) indicate that March basin water supplies for the Gunnison Basin <br />were near normal. April 1, 2003 snowpack was 86% of normal. Storage in Taylor Park, <br />Crawford, and Fruitland reservoirs totaled 63% of normal as of the end of March. <br /> <br />Colorado Basin <br />The SWSI values (+0.7) indicate that March basin water supplies were normal. April 1, <br />2003 snowpack levels were 101 % of average. Storage in Green Mountain, Ruedi, and <br />Williams Fork reservoirs totaled 50% of average at the end of March. <br /> <br />YamDalWhite Basin <br />The SWSI values (-1.5) indicate that the March basin water supplies were below normal. <br />April 1, 2003 snowpack levels were 91 % of average. At the end of March the snow pack <br />was 98% of average for the North Platte River Basin; 95% of average for the Yampa <br />River Basin; 85% of average for the White River Basin; and, 96% of average for the <br />Little Snake River. The largest increases in snowpack were on the North Platte and Little <br />Snake River drainage resulting from the March snow storm; However that storm brought <br />little snow to the White and Yampa River drainages even though their averages increased <br />slightly for March. <br /> <br />San JuanlDolores Basin <br />The SWSI values (-1.8) indicate that March water basin supplies were below normal. <br />April 1, 2003 snowpack levels were 75% of normal. Storage in McPhee, Vallecito, and <br />Lemon reservoirs totaled 62% of normal the end of March. <br />
