<br />Stephanie Delgar, Tourism <br />Ms. Delgar mentioned that there was not anything new to report at this meeting for tourism. She <br />said that the Colorado Golf Association impact study she mentioned at the last drought meeting <br />is being prepared. She hopes to have something from it at the next meeting. Ms. Delgar also <br />reported that the rafting industry is good and that last year some of the rafting companies actually <br />had a record year. <br /> <br />Barrv Cress, Department of Local Affairs <br />Mr. Cress reported that the Local Affairs funding program is currently processing applications <br />regarding water and wastewater projects for mainly small systems. He mentioned that the <br />majority are for water projects related to water supply and involve tightening up water systems, <br />fixing leaking water lines, installing meters, and acquiring new water supply wells. Mr. Cress <br />stated they will have somewhere between 20 and 25 projects and that there is 5-10 million <br />dollars of requests in the applications. They expect to make decisions on them in the next two <br />months. <br /> <br />Mr. Cress also mentioned that there is a larger water project underway in the metro area at <br />Reuter-Hess Reservoir. He said the Colorado Water Conservation Board is helping finance the <br />project as well as the Colorado Water Resources and Power Development Authority. Mr. Cress <br />stated that it is a multi-year project located in the southeastern part of the metro area and that the <br />reservoir is owned by the Parker Water and Sanitation District. <br /> <br />Brett Rodewald, Colorado Parks Recreation Assn. <br />Mr. Rodewald stated that the socker teams are delaying playing until March 15 because of the <br />drought. He also said that over the winter some municipalities were beginning to use artificial <br />turf more. He said the start cost is greater, but the pay back is not as great as when it was first <br />introduced. <br /> <br />Bob Steger, Denver Water <br />Mr. Steger reported that they are in a spring watch and no lawn watering is allowed before May <br />1st. He also stated that the Denver Water Board would make their summer water restrictions <br />decision the middle of April. <br /> <br />Agriculture-- <br />Reagan Waskom, CSU Cooperative Extension, <br />Mr. Waskom said not much changed with the ag situation since the last meeting. He did mention <br />they were about two weeks away from planting barley and onions on the eastern plains, and that <br />the recent snow was good for the soil moisture of the eastern plains. <br /> <br />DeN of Health (Randal Ristau) <br />Mr. Ristau reported they now have some funds for an emergency fund to respond to emergency <br />situations, and they hope to maintain the fund through the years. <br /> <br />Joe Lambert. Energv <br />Mr. Lambert was not able to attend this meeting. <br /> <br />Wendv Schultz, OSPB, Economics <br />There was no economic report at this meeting. <br />
