Using an II-member composite average for the <br />strongest La Nina winters (left) since 1950 versus the next 11 weaker <br />ones (right), we can readily see that it does not make much difference <br />for the northern and central mountains (both wet), but it does make a <br />difference for the southern mountains (wet only for the weak events). <br />Ironically, this winter has behaved more like a strong La Nina in terms <br />of its impacts on Colorado rather than a weak one. <br />
