"'.'. __ _ <br /> <br />--~ "._.",;"...~~'" .~ <br /> <br />: <br />" <br /> <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Studies made of the water supply and water needs <br />of various portions of the State need to be collected and <br />considered as a whole for the efficient management, <br />conservation, and preservation of the water resources of the <br />State; now, therefore, <br /> <br />Be It Resolved by the Senate of the Fifty-ninth General <br />Assembly of the State of Colorado, the House of Representatives <br />concurring herein: <br /> <br />That a joint report be prepared by the State Engineer and <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board, which joint report shall: <br /> <br />(1) Inventory the information readily available for each <br />water division of this State on the following matters: <br /> <br />(a) The water supply currently available to meet existing <br />needs and the historical and existing levels of water use and <br />the extent of reliance on renewable and nonrenewable supplies <br />of water; <br /> <br />I <br />i <br />II <br />I <br />I <br />, <br /> <br />(b) The record of drought periods and the amount of water <br />supply available in times of drought; <br /> <br />(c) The anticipated shortages in water supplies in times <br />of extended drought to meet the existing and reasonably <br />projected water needs of the State's citizens; <br /> <br />(d) The extent to which existing and reasonably <br />anticipated future needs of the State as a whol e are not or <br />cannot be met by water apportioned to the State by interstate <br />,compacts or equitable apportionment decrees; <br /> <br />(e) Any other information that is reasonably available <br />and that would assist the State in making ,informed decisions <br />about the efficient management, conservation, and preservation <br />of its scarce water resources; <br /> <br />(2) Identify the nature and extent of the information <br />needed to enable the State to make informed decisions regarding <br />efficient management, conservation, and preservation of its <br />scarce water resources; <br /> <br />(3) Set forth a plan with cost estimates and timelines <br />to obtain the information identified in subsection (2). <br /> <br />ii <br />:! <br /> <br />PAGE 2-SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 94-32 <br />
