Operate the cal ibrated model and obtain monthly estimates
of storable flows during the study period at the four
potential reservoir sites for up to 12 water supply and
demand scenarios reflecting the following:

a. Two scenarios of Closed Basin deliveries (probably
reflecting 60,000 and 90,000 acre-feet of average
annual Closed Basin deliveries to the Rio Grande.
b. Up to two scenarios of Compact obl igations will be
imposed in the model ing.
c. Up to three scenarios of future irrigation demands
in the basin will be imposed as follows:
Historical diversion levels of the irrigation
systems.
A diversion 1 evel for the irrigation systems
derived by limiting the historic diversions
to a function of the estimated historic
consumptive use (perhaps reflecting a 50
percent ditch efficiency).
A diversion level for the irrigation systems
derived by limiting the historic diversions
to a function of the estimated historic
consumptive use (perhaps reflecting a 30
percent ditch efficiency).
2. Characterize the storable flows and determine why the
storable flows were available when they were.

Work Product: Simulation model
the four potential reservoir
supply and demand scenarios.

results of storable flows at
sites under various water

18

~ Leonard Rice Consulting Waler Engineers, Inc.
