<br />NEBRASKA v. WYOMING <br />325 U.S. 589 (1945) <br /> <br /> <br />Salient Provisions: <br /> <br />1. Colorado is prohibited from diverting water from the North Platte River and its tributaries for <br />irrigation of more than 135,000 acres in Jackson County during one irrigation season. (This <br />value was changed to 145,000 acres by the Court on June 14, 1953). <br /> <br />2. Colorado is prohibited from storing more than 17,000 acre-feet of water for irrigation purposes <br />from the North Platte River and its tributaries in Jackson County between October 1st of any <br />year and September 30th of the following year. <br /> <br />3. Colorado is prohibited from exporting out of the basin of the North Platte River and its <br />tributaries in Jackson County more than 60,000 acre-feet in any consecutive 10-year period. <br /> <br />4. Colorado and Wyoming are required to maintain accurate records of irrigated acreage, volumes <br />of water stored, and volumes of water exported for inspection at all times. <br /> <br />5.
