<br />Far View Reservoir <br /> <br />Located at Mesa Verde north of the Far View <br />ruins. is a doughnut shaped depression that was <br />construCled around 750 AD as a water storage <br />vessel. This is the oldest example of how hu- <br />mans utilized the very limited water supply that <br />exists in Colorado <br /> <br />Us outside waifs are made of stone and mud <br />mortar, A mile long dilch collection system was <br />construCled to fill the reservoIr. Small ditches <br />converged to feed this larger ditch The top of <br />the reservoir walls are approximately 8 feet <br />above the bonom of the pond, but studieS indi- <br />cate that water stored in the reservoir was neller <br />deeper than five fe€t.
