.

.

CURRENT STATUS
The Allenspark Water and Sanitation District was officially
created on January 9, 1973, under the laws of the state of Colorado.
The district is a quasi-municipality with its activities being restricted
by statute to water and sewer matters. The district has the authority
to levy ad valorem taxes and may enter into contracts for the construc-
tion of water and sewage facilities.
Late in 1973, the district submitted an application to the Colorado
Water Conservation Board for assistance from the Colorado Water Board
Construction Fund. Subsequently, the board entered into a contract
with Wright-McLaughlin Engineers to prepare a feasibility report for a
water system for the Allenspark community. The feasibility report has
now been completed and constitutes the basis for the recommendations
contained herein.
PROPOSED PROJECT
The project report recommends the construction of a small domestic
water system for the Allenspark community at an estimated cost of
$321,320. The project would consist principally of a small intake
structure on Willow Creek, an 80,000 gallon per day treatment plant and
a pipeline distribution system. It is estimated that initially 105 taps
would be served from this system and that within the near future another
45 taps would be added. The system would be designed for such future
expansion as may become necessary. A summary of the estimated costs
for the proposed project is contained on the folLowing page.

-2-
