5.0

5.0 The Edit Menu

The Edit Menu

The Edit menu allows the SPWRMS user to make changes
to the application. These changes ntay include river administra-
tion data that then become visible to all SPWRMS users as well
as preference changes and displayed map layers that are used
for application ntanagement.

5.1 Preferences

Preferences control what inforntation is seen in ntany
of the other dialogs. When you save your preferences, the
next time you start the SPWRMS application your prefer.
ences settings remain the same.

By changing the Tune, Map Layers, and District settings in the Preferences
dialog, you control your view of the river. To open the Preferences dialog,
choose the Preferences... item from the Edit menu. Click on the Okay
bunon to activate your specified preferences. Click on the Save button to
save to save your preferences to disk. Preferences saved to disk are used as
the default preference settings each time the application starts up. For fUrther
discussion of the effects of preferences on various SPWRMS dialogs, please
see the discussion of individual dialogs in the later sections.

5.1.1 Time

The time period specified in the Preference dialog determines your
temporal view of the river. For example, if you choose May I - May
4, 1994, as your time interval, then all streamflow hydrographs drawn
will cover this period until you change your time preference. You
have a choice of checking the Past _ Hours radio bunon, or the
I nterval radio button. The setting defaults to the past 24 hours.

5.1.2 Map Layers

The map layers and districts specified affect the graphical map dis-
playas well as the locations available for processing. In particular,
structures and streamgages are available only for the specified water
districts.
