<br />. <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br /> <br />Ish Reservoir Project <br />Ish Reservoir Company <br /> <br />December, 1987 <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />Ish Reservoir is located in Boulder and Larimer Counties, <br />approximately 4 miles north of Longmont. It is owned by the <br />Ish Reservoir Company. It has a storage capacity of 7.000 <br />acre-feet. The reservoir provides supplemental irrigation <br />water for 15.500 acres of land in Boulder. Larimer. and Weld <br />Counties. <br /> <br />Problem <br /> <br />The State Engineer has advised the company that it must <br />diligently pursue the correction of downstream seepage problems <br />or face storage restrictions. To avoid such restrictions. the <br />company had a feasibility study prepared to address the <br />problem. That study was performed by Rocky Mountain <br />Consultan~s. Inc.. of Longmont. It is the basis for the <br />recommendation on this project. <br /> <br />Proposed Project <br /> <br />The recommended solution to the seepage problem at Ish <br />Reservoir is to construct a perforated pipe drain along the toe <br />of the dam embankment with an outlet pipe to an existing <br />natural watercourse. The total estimated cost of the project <br />is $72.000. <br /> <br />Proposed Financinq <br /> <br />Ish Reservoir Company (Private Loan) <br />CWCB Loan at 5\ interest <br /> <br />Total <br /> <br />$36.000 <br />$36.000 <br />$72.000 <br /> <br />Under the proposed financing arrangement. the company would <br />have to pay the CWCB $2.888.64 per year for 20 years. for a <br />total repayment of $57,772.80. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />It is recommended that this project be authorized by the <br />General Assembly in the amount of $36.000. subject to the <br />proposed terms of the financing set forth above and SUbject to <br />the company demonstrating to the Board's satisfaction that it <br />can meet its repayment obligation. <br /> <br />JWM/gl <br /> <br />5259E <br />
