Its <br />riparian systems vary from <br />high-country streams to <br />beaver ponds to cottonwood <br />forests. (Once vanished from <br />the Yampa, otters have <br />recently returned to the river, <br />thanks to a reintroduction <br />effort on the Green River con- <br />ducted by the Utah Division <br />of Wildlife.)
