Giles, <br />Secretary. <br />Approved: <br />Harry W. Bashore, <br />Representative of the <br />United States of America. <br /> <br />37-62-102. When compact operative. Said compact <br />shall not become operative unless and until the same has <br />been ratified by the legislatures of each of the signatory <br />states and consented to by the congress of the United <br />States. The governor ofthe state of Colorado shall give <br />notice of the ratification of said compact to the <br />governors of the states of New Mexico, Utah, <br />Wyoming, and Arizona, and to the president of the <br />United States. <br /> <br />37-62-103. Interstate agency created by compact. It is <br />hereby recognized, found, determined, and declared that <br />the compact creates an interstate agency which is known <br />as the upper Colorado river commission and which is an <br />independent entity whose members and employees are <br />not officers and employees of any of the states signatory <br />to the compact. <br /> <br />37 -62-104. Appomtment of Colorado member of <br />commission. After the said compact becomes effective, <br />the Colorado member of the upper Colorado river <br />commission shall be appointed by the governor, and <br />shall serve until revocation of his appointment by the <br />governor, and, on behalf of the upper Colorado river <br />commission, the state of Colorado shall pay his <br />necessary expenses and also compensation in an amount <br />which shall be fixed by the governor, and when so fixed <br />shall be changed only by the governor. <br /> <br />37-62-105. Payment of expenses of commission. The <br />Colorado share of the expenses of the upper Colorado <br />river commission and the expenses and the <br />compensation ofthe Colorado member of that <br />commission shall be paid out of funds appropriated by <br />the general assembly to the Colorado water <br />conservation board and warrants shall be drawn against <br />such appropriations upon vouchers signed by the <br />governor and the director of the Colorado water <br />conservation board. <br /> <br />37-62-106. Administrative code inapplicable. The <br />provisions ofartic1es 2, 3,31,35, and 36 of title 24, <br />C.R.S., shall be inapplicable to any acts or proceedings <br />taken to carry out the purpose of said compact. <br /> <br />76 <br />
