<br />Economic Analysis of the Denver Basin Aquifer <br /> <br />The Board recommends up to $40,000 be authorized from the Construction Fund to conduct <br />a cooperative study of the economic life of wells pumping from the Denver basin aquifer. <br /> <br />Arkansas River Basin Well Pumping Data Processing <br /> <br />The Board recommends up to $50,000 be authorized from the Construction Fund for the State <br />Engineer to purchase and coordinate operations of data processing systems to facilitate handling <br />of well pumping data by water user groups in the Arkansas River basin. <br /> <br />Arkansas River Channel Restoration Study <br /> <br />The Board recommends up to $150,000 be authorized from the Construction Fund to contract <br />with the Albuquerque District Corps of Engineers, or a contractor, for a study of the Arkansas <br />River channel below John Martin Reservoir. The study will investigate problems related to recent <br />flooding and identify and evaluate potential solutions to address channel conveyance, sediment <br />transport, vegetative management, reservoir operations, riparian removal, and plantings. This <br />will be a multi-objective study for the development of a management plan that will assist in <br />mitigating future flood losses and improve irrigation supply in Colorado. <br /> <br />CWCB Annual Report, page 22 <br />
