ArKansas Total Project Cost: $3,309,850 Loan Amount: 52,980,000 Funding Sources: ewcs & Company Current Reservoir Storage: 500 acre-feet Type of Borrower: Low MunicipaVAgricultural Interest Rate: 3.0% Term: 30 years The Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District is located in SaUda, Colorado. and serves to protect and develop water supplies in Chaffee, Western Fremont and Custer Counties. The District has operated the North Fork Reservoir since 1979 for domestic, municipal, industrial, recreational and augmentation purposes. The reservoir is at elevation 11,400 feet and is located 10 miles from Maysville on the North Fork of the South Arkansas River. The District plans to repair the outlet gate, improve the access for construction, increase the spillway capacity, mitigate seepage along the right abutment, and raise the dam height by 15 feet. This will increase the capacity of the reservoir from 595 AF to 1095 AF. The enlargement will also require the relocation of portions of a campground. The reservoir is located on Forest Service property and currently has a Special Use Permit authorizing the repair work.
