<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br /> <br />North Poudre Irrigation Company <br />North Poudre Storage Reservoir #6 <br />January, 1992 <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />The North Poudre Irrigation Company serves an area north and east of Ft. Collins, <br />Colorado. The North Poudre system consists of 22 reservoirs and 200 miles of irrigation <br />ditches and laterals. The system provides irrigation water to 30,000:1: acres to the City of <br />Fort Collins and the Town of Wellington. Reservoir #6 is one of the 22 reservoirs with a <br />capacity of 9968 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Problem <br /> <br />The reservoir has been placed on the State Engineer's restricted list and is presently <br />not being utilized for water storage. The reservoir needs a new outlet, core trench, slope <br />flattening, new enlarged spillway and upstream slope protections (i.e., riprap). <br /> <br />Proposed Project <br /> <br />The company proposes to do a major rehabilitation project to correct all of the <br />problems listed above. The total cost of the improvements is estimated to be $1,802,000 <br /> <br />. Proposed Financing <br /> <br />The Company has borrowed $3,209,108 from the CWCB on a 50% matching fund <br />basis. The annual payback on principal and interest is $187,027 annually. The Company <br />has pushed shareholder contribution on an annual basis from $50 to over $75jyearjshare <br />to accumulate their 50% share and repay tl)e borrowed funds. To date the company has <br />rehabilitated the portion of their system that carries the highest priority in terms of <br />operational necessity. The Company feels the need of some relief in this proposed major <br />project. <br />
