<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />EAST LAKE CREEK DAM AND RESERVOIR <br /> <br />PLAN DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />East Lake Creek Dam and Reservoir would be a new structure located <br />on East Lake Creek a tributary of Lake Creek which enters the <br />Colorado River about 2 miles upstream from the Town of Eagle. <br />Figure 1 shows the reservoir location in Colorado, Figure 2 is a <br />copy of a USGS Quad map showing the reservoir site and drainage <br />basin. <br /> <br />The sponsoring entity for the dam and the contact person are: <br /> <br />Vail Valley Consolidated Water District <br />Dennis Galvin, Manager 476-7480 <br />846 Forest Road <br />Vail, Colorado 81657 <br /> <br />The water would be used for municipal purposes in the Eagle - Vail <br />area. <br /> <br />Tipton and Kalmbach prepared a report for the District in 1989, <br />which surveyed 17 potential reservoir sites in the area. Based on <br />that study, the East Lake Creek Reservoir was determined to be one <br />of the best three sites, if not the best. Much of the technical <br />information included herein is based upon the 1989 report, the <br />embankment volume and construction cost estimate was redetermined <br />herein. <br /> <br />This reconnaissance report describes the engineering issues, <br />preliminary designs, and costs of constructing the dam. <br /> <br />East Lake Creek Dam <br /> <br />1 <br />
