For each category, data on source type (ground water or surface water), <br />water-supply method (self-supplied or public-supplied), and disposition type <br />(consumptive use or return flow) were collected. Additional data relevant to <br />water use also were gathered; for example, population served by public-supply <br />systems, irrigated acreage and method of irrigation, electricity generated by <br />power plants, and conveyance losses in distribution systems. In this report, <br />water-use data are organized by water-use category, and source and disposition <br />information are presented primarily within the sections of the report dealing <br />with each category; however, a brief discussion of source and disposition <br />information is first presented. <br /> <br />5 <br />
