<br />: <br /> <br />WATER CONSERVATION GRANT <br />FOR PUBLIC OPEN SPACE <br /> <br />Project Description: <br /> <br />Wild flower, tall fescue grass and Kentucky bluegrass <br />planting to demonstrate to the public, water conservation <br />methods and to provide a comparison of water requirements for <br />each species/ Planted in three separate sections of equal <br />size with individually metered watering systems. This <br />project would certainly be of interest to our citizens as <br />water metering and rate increases are forthcoming. Also, the <br />news media has shown an interest in this project, so this <br />combined with VFW involvement, should expand public awareness <br />regarding this project. <br /> <br />Water Usage Monitoring Method <br /> <br />soil moisture monitoring will be done by parks staff and <br />watering will be done on an as needed basis.
