The District will promote wise
water use to all public and private sector customers through infonnational packets and water
consultations, if requested. The infonnation packets will include techniques for auditing water
use, fmding leaks, and other recommendations pertinent to these customers. The program began .
in 1993 by providing infonnation to all new public and private sector customers. Beginning in
1994, infonnation packets will also be provided to existing public and private sector customers.

District Irrigation Upgrade Program. The District will continue to upgrade park and
open space irrigation operations as discussed in Chapter 5. This effort is ongoing.

Water Wasting Regulations. The District will cooperate with homeowner associations
and other interest groups to develop water wasting regulations to discourage the wasteful use of
water. This will be targeted for the Spring of 1995. .

Reclaimed Water Use. Based on previous studies, the District will seek to utilize
reclaimed water as a source of irrigation for future open space development along the Marcy
Gulch. This opportunity will be revisited in a reclaimed water use update report targeted for
1996. At that time, nOli-potable and potable use of reclaimed water will be evaluated as
applicable to the District's long range water supply management plan.

. Systemwide Use Reduction. The District has developed a systemwide use reduction
plan for reducing unaccounted for water use and potential water waste. The fIrst phase of this
effort will be a meter verification program which began in 1993 and will test 700 meters in the
various customer sectors.

21-6657
