CONSERVATION MEASURES
Colorado House Bill 91-1154, "The Water Conservation Act of 1991", requires that the Central
Weld County Water District consider, at a minimum, the following conservation measures and
address each of them in the District's Water Conservation Plan. The District also issues public
notification through their annual water quality report and newly adopted Water Shortage
Contingency Plan.

Water Efficient Fixtures and Auuliances
The Central Weld County Water District currently does not require customers to use water
efficient fixtures and appliances within the District. The use of water efficient fixtures and
appliances are effectively required for all new construction due to the adoption of uniform
plumbing codes and building requirements by the various building permit authorities within the
District's bOlmdaries. Since only low flow toilets are now manufactured in the United States, the
issue of low flow toilets for new construction has been addressed. Currently, all of the
municipalities listed require replacement items to be water efficient.(Plumbing Code adoption by
county and municipality)
Municioalitv Plumbing Code Low Flow Requirements
Weld County lntemational Plumbing 1.6 gallons/flush toilets
Code 2.5 gallons/minute shower
2.0 gallons/minute faucets
City of Dacono 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
Town of Firestone 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
Town of Frederick 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
Town of LaSalle 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
Town of Kersey 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
Town of Gilcrest 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
Town ofPlatteville 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
Town of Milliken 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
Aristocrat Ranchettes International Plumbing Code
