community. He has extensive experlence with municipal water
systems on both sides of the Continental Divide and is
instrumental in this project.

4. Please identify any community involvement anticipated
or planned as part of your project.

The City of Steamboat Springs is the site of the indoor
plumbing retrofit program. Steamboat Springs will arrange
for test sites, oversee the installation of meters and water
efficient fixtures, and direct the meter reading. Other
communities in the Region will participate indirectly by
receiving information on the project and, potentially,
utilizing the planning spreadsheet to develop their own
water conservation plans.

5. How might you propose sharing the results of the
project with your community?

Information on the project will be disseminated
throughout the Region through press reteases, NWCCOG board
meetings, and town council presentations. Any interested
community will be provided copies of the spreadsheet and
training in its use and interpretation.

6. Describe any innovative features of your project or
anticipated benefits to your agency and others.

This project is unique because it will make information
regarding water use in resort communities available to both
water providers and individual water users. This
information is significant because it will be generated
under relatively controlled circumstances in a resort. The
results of the project will then be made available to a
large number of communities.

7. If the planning and/or implementation of your project
involves more than on agency please list all participants.

City of Steamboat Springs
Northwest Colorado Council of Governments

8. Estimate of time to complete project (months): 18
