Be sure to provide a description of; the <br />need for your project, how you would implement your project, and the participants in you project. <br /> <br />1.1 SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT <br /> <br />Introductio.n <br /> <br />The Water Co.nservation Simulation Mo.del is pro.Po.sed to. simulate the operational and <br />financial effects o.fwater co.nservatio.n measures o.n a specific water pro.viding entity. A full <br />descriptio.n o.f the mo.del is attached as Exhibit A. At the co.mpletio.n o.f the pro.ject the <br />Co.lo.rado. Water Co.nservatio.n Bo.ard (CWCB) will have a user manual and f1O.PPY disks o.f <br />the mo.del, which can be distributed to. water entities thro.ugho.ut the state. <br /> <br />This mo.del will be develo.ped for tho.se water entities who. are faced with critical decisio.ns <br />co.ncerning ho.W best to meet their future water supply requirements. These entities are <br />involved with the evaluatio.n of a wide range o.f ever changing optio.ns which include very <br />expensive new supplies o.r demand managementcho.ices. Unfo.rtunately, no. readily available <br />'---- . <br />to.o.l exists to. assist water entities wit~_!hese_ decisio~s; ho.wever, a great deal o.f info.nnation <br />is available, which Co.uld facilitate the decision making process, but the info.nnation is <br />fragmented. <br /> <br />In order to address this need Cherry Creek Water & Sanitation District (CCV) proposes <br />to create an integrated water co.nservatio.n simu1ation model, which will use infonnation on <br />water conservation, hydro.lo.gy, systems o.perations, and economic planning in such a way that <br />water managers and decisl'on makers can rationally and systematically evaluate their o.ptio.ns, <br />and then make infonned and defensible decisions.
