WATER USE RESEARCH STUDY QUESTIONNAIRE

Name:

Address:

The purpose of this research study is to compare landscape water use between two groups of
homeowners. Since we can not directly measure the water that you use for lawn watering, we need to
subtract the estimated amount of indoor water use from the total amount measured by your water meter.
As a starting point, we will estimate the indoor water use by assuming that your average daily total water
consumption during the winter is equal to your average daily indoor water use in the summer. Your
answers to the following questions will help us to refine that assumption. Answer these questions for
the time period of December 1, 1993 to October 31, 1994. For the time remaining until October
31st, make your best guess. Attach an additional sheet if necessary.

1. Time periods when residents were (will be) away for vacation or business for three days or longer.
List the number of residents who took the vacation, and the approximate dates:

.~

2. Additions or deletions to the number of residents due to birth, adoption, foster parenting, death,
divorce, child moving away from home, child living at home during the summer while going to
college, etc. List the occurrences and the approximate dates.

(COntinued on back)
