Section 2.3 Transmission and Distribution System

ELCO maintains approximately 166 miles of water transmission and distribution lines
between 1 1/2" and 24" in diameter. The following table shows the total length and
size of District owned water lines.

Water ~ai.Iri serving District cusio~ers are primarily asbestos-cement and plastic.
The 24"trarismission line is ductile iron. The 22" transmission line and a portion of
the 14" transmission line are steel. Most water lines were installed in the early 1960s
when the District was formed.

Section 3. Water Use

3.1 Annual Water Use

Each year since 1991, ELCO has received approximately 2,900 acre feet of treated
water from the Soldier Canyon Filter Plant. An unusually hot, dry summer in 1994
contributed to a record annual use of 3,072 acre feet. The following graph shows
