.

..

EXHIBIT A

1. !iW-opr or SPrvwps

The Project consists of the Contractor developing an outdoor environmental center where students can utilize their skills in
practical applications. This center will provide the resource for teaching practical math and science concepts. The Project goals
include: increasing community awareness of the effects of xeriscaping, extending the useful life of the ContractOr's water system,
and to collecting data for evaluation of future programs.

The plant materials chosen will provide an environment capable of sustaining various birds and insect species, which will allow
for unlimited educational opportunities. There will be a xeriscape garden that will give the Contractor the means of making a
hands ()o approach to water use efficiency available to students, teachers and the community. Lesson plans will be developed
to be utilized by all teachers in the elementary school. The students will be involved in preparing signage to identify plant
species in the garden.

The Contractor will recruit volunteers to come in with tractors and equipment to work the ground and prepare it for planting.
The planting will continue throughout the fall and spring with parents, students, teachers and community help. In order to
monitor the water an in line meter will be installed and a weather station will be set up in the new area. The in line meter will
allow the school to monitor the continual decline of the water usage as the zones become established. The impact on the
community will be evaluated through surveys and observations.

A Final Report shall be compiled Upon completion of the Project. The Final Report shall include a summary of the Project,
discussion of the Project implementation, Project findings and water savings results. The Final Report will not only conclude the
Project but will serve as infonnation to be shared with other Colorado communities.

2. Projf"rl TinlP or Perfonnsmrp

The Project will commence on November I, 1993 or upon full and proper execution of this Contract.

The Project will be completed on or before October 30, 1995. However, the Project time of ped'onnance may be extended subject
to the mutual agreement of the State and Contractor. A written request for extension shall be submitted to the State by the
Contractor at least thirty (30) days prior ~ October 30, 1995, and shall include a full justification for the extension request.

Page 1 of 2 Pages
