Irrigation scheduling will be determined by use of the <br />Irrigation Scheduling Program developed by the USDA-ARS and Colorado State University. <br />Weather information will be obtained from two weather monitoring stations. On-site soil <br />moisture readings will be taken weekly from gypsum blocks placed at varying depths in each of <br />the demonstration sites. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Provide publicity and promotion through local radio station and news media and through visits <br />to the site. A field day and tours will be conducted each year to acquaint producers and the <br />general public with the irrigation conservation technology and alternative crop management being <br />demonstrated. A salinity workshop will be conducted as pan of the salinity mapping segment <br />of the demonstration. Adequate pictures will be taken to record the events, performance for <br />evaluation and publicity. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Produce a Imal report and condensed brochure presenting results of the various phases of the <br />project from data that has been compiled, analyzed and conclusions drawn by March 30, 1998. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Provide technical assistance and staff support to produce the above products. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE it is hereby agreed that: <br /> <br />1. Scope of Work. The Colorado State University, Cooperative Extension, shall through its Project <br />Administrators, W. Dennis Lamm and James C. Valiant, perform and accomplish in a satisfactory and <br />proper manner all the necessary work and services described above; <br /> <br />2. Statement of Consideration. The Colorado State University Sponsored Programs shall bill the Client for <br />the above described pilot program demonstrating the benefits of water efficiency pursuant to the <br />following project funding schedule: Initial payment of sixteen thousand ($16,000) dollars, two interim <br />payments of eighteen thousand ($18,000) dollars and nine thousand six hundred and f1fty-eight ($9,658) <br />with 10% of total amount withheld until fmal report completion; with the total amount not to exceed <br />fony eight thousand five hundred and nine ($48,509) dollars. The Contractor shall bill only for material <br />needed to actively deliver the services described. <br /> <br />3. Payment and Other Performance. Payment may be made upon billing by the Contractor at reasonable <br />intervals and at the expected contract termination date of March 30, 1998. <br /> <br />4. Definition of Breach and Remedies. If through any cause the Contractor shall fail to fulfill in a timely <br />and proper manner his obligations under this contract, or if the Contractor shall violate any of the <br />covenants, agreements, or stipulations of this contract, the State shall thereupon have the right to <br />terminate this contract for cause by giving written notice to the Contractor of such termination and <br />specifying the effective date thereof, at least five (5) days before the effective date of such termination. <br />In that event, all finished documents, data, studies, surveys, drawings, maps, models, photographs, and <br />reports or other material prepared by the Contractor under this Contract shall, at the option of the Client, <br />become its propeny, and the Contractor shall be entitled to receive just and equitable comp~nsation for <br />any satisfactory work completed on such documents and other materials. <br /> <br />/' <br />
