/ . Exhibit A . I. Scope orScrvices The Project consists of the Contractor installing a xeriscape demonstration garden at the new Police Department facility. This Project is the first phase ofa three phase project. Grant funds will be used for installation of an irrigation system and xeriscape plants. The goals of the Project are to: pro\.ide a demonstration garden for residents of Canon City and Fremont County; educate the public about water conservation benefits of xeriscape landscaping; and to decrease the water consumption for landscaping. The Contractor will utilized a developed sile plan as a guideline to the installation of the irrigation system and xeriscape plants. The Contractor will monitor water consumption during the Project development. A comparison of water usage between the installation oflhe xeriscape site and another site of more traditional turf landscaping will be done. A Final Report shall be compiled upon completion of Phase I of the Project. The Final Report shall include a summary of the Project, discussion of the Project implementation, Project findings and water usage. The Final Report will not only conclude the Project but ....ill serve as information to be shared with other Colorado communities. 2. Proiect TIme of Performance The Project will commence on May I, 1997 or upon full and proper execution of this ContJact. The Project win be completed on or before November, 30, 1998. However, the Project time of performance may be extended subject to the mutual agreement of the State and Contractor. A written request for extension shall be submitted to the State by the Contractor at least thirty (30) days prior 10 November 30, 1998, and shall include a [ulljustification for the extension request. 3. GRANT Agreement: I. 54.500 Initial grant payment to be made w1thin thirty (30) days of the date of execution of this contract by the State Controller or his designee. II. $500 Final payment to be made only upon acceptance of Project <:omplet\on. The Contractor wm submit a final financial statement documenting the expenditure of all Granl funds for which payment has been requested and a final narrative report on the Project implementation and findings. TOTAL $5.000 All requests for payment after the first payment will be initiated by the Contractor in accordance w1th the provisions in paragraph 5 of the main body of this Contract. 5. Contract Monitorine The Department of Natural Resources, Colorado Water Conservation Board, will monitor the Project on an as-needed basis. 6. Reportine Schedule The Contractor win submit financial and narrative status reports detai.ling Project progress and properly documenting an to- date expenditures of Grant funds at the time each payment request is made, in accordance with the payment schedule.
